BANGOR – Dorothy “Dottie” M. Douglas, 84, beloved wife of the late Clyde Douglas Sr., passed away Feb. 19, 2006, following a long illness at her home. She was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Brewer. She resided in Lucerne and Bangor, the daughter of Bernice Hodgins Buchanan and Martin Buchanan of South Brewer. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Clyde Douglas Sr.; sister, Marie Foss and Georgia Zelenski; and grandson, “Baby Pat.” Dorothy is survived by her children, Mickey Smith of Dedham, Clyde Douglas Jr. and Cynthia of Lucerne, Martin Douglas and dear friend, Dottie, of Pushaw Lake, Georgia Nichols and Alan of Arcade, Ga., Patty Bates and Jim Jackson of Vancouver, Wash. and Brentwood, Calif.; three sisters, Ann Boucher of Connecticut, Jane Masine of Florida, Nancy and Bob Crawford of Lucerne and Martin of Buchanan Jr. of Connecticut; 12 grandchildren, Tikie, Bubba, Missy, Keith, Kevin, Kelly, Scooter, Pixie, John, Michael, Bob and Jesse; 16 great-grandchildren, Tessa, Jessie, Darren, Phillip, Tyler, Dylan, Jennifer, Kevin, Neil, Christopher, Teresa, Emily, Madison, Hailee, Dylan and Cameron; many cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Dedham Congregational Church, with the Rev. Dana Douglass, officiating.
