ADDISON – Dot Rittenhouse, 78, died at a Machias hospital Dec. 13, 2003, following a long illness. She was born Feb. 19, 1925, at New York City, the daughter of Earl and Hannah (Powell) Hangen. Dot grew up in Flushing, N.Y., where she attended school and worked as a telephone operator. She married her husband, Charles Rittenhouse in 1941 and together raised six children. She is survived by her children, Nancy Hicks of Minnesota, James Rittenhouse of Hudson, Mass., Thomas Rittenhouse, John Rittenhouse and his wife, Marilyn, and Mark Rittenhouse, all of Addison; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1991 and her son, Charles Jr., in 1976. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge. Interment will be in the spring at Churchill Cemetery, Addison.
