OLD TOWN – Sandra L. (Willey) Pinkham…Another “Jewel” was added to His crown Saturday morning as Mother was unexpectedly called home to the kingdom… Sandra L. (Willey) Pinkham, 64, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at her home. She was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Pea Cove, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Lois (Tripp) Willey. Sandra was a former elementary school teacher for SAD 31 (Howland and Enfield) for 30 years and also served as principal. She was a past president of the Maine Teachers Association and also served on the Old Town School Board. Sandra was an active member of the Christ Church of Faith, serving as the organist in the music department and as a past board member of the church. She was a longtime member of the Old Town Chapter 161 Order of the Eastern Star. She cherished and loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as traveling to visit them. She was an active volunteer and board member of the Cross Roads Ministries in Old Town. Sandra enjoyed using her computer and communicating with her many online friends. She was a strong advocate of the use of computers in the school system and received recognition for her work with them. Her many artistic talents provided hours of enjoyment for her and her family. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Linwood, of 34 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, James Willey and wife, Cindy, of Pea Cove; a daughter, Linda McNally and her husband, Brian, of Dunnellon, Fla.; sons, Harold Pinkham of Veazie, Jeffrey Feero and his wife, Sheila, of Glenburn; daughter Donna Balaban and her husband, Jim, of Lemoyne, Pa.; son, Charles Pinkham and his wife, Cindy, of Old Town; daughters, Susan Shorey and her husband, David, of Pea Cove, LeAnn Jean and her husband, Claude, of Appling, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; aunts, Virginia McCarty of Southington, Conn. and Betty Tripp of Pea Cove; and a special aunt, Arline Tripp of Pea Cove. A celebration of life will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Christ Church of Faith, Bennoch Road, Old Town, with Pastor Wayne Hartt officiating. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon and continued fellowship immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
