ROBBINSTON – Douglas Burton Jackson, 77, died Nov. 17, 2005, at his home. Doug was born June 3, 1928, in St. George, N.B., Canada, son of the late Hugh Clayton and Grace Almeda (Doyle) Jackson. He married Robina Hall, Jan. 25, 1952, in Rockland. Doug was employed for the U.S. Customs Department for 30 years, retiring as port director for Eastport and Lubec. He loved golfing, fishing, traveling and enjoyed people in general. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by two sisters, Frances L. Burke and Laura Bernadine Bartlett. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Robina L. Jackson; two sons, James C. Jackson of Calais and Robert A. Jackson and wife, Tammy, of Durham; three grandchildren, Megan E. Jackson, Evan J. Jackson and Miles A. Jackson; a brother, Ronald H. Jackson and wife, Sarah, of San Antonio, Texas; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and several special friends. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home, 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, with the Rev. Ron Windhorst and Pastor Colin Windhorst officiating. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery.
