BUCKFIELD – Dustin James Gross, 22, died unexpectedly July 3, 2007, at his residence. He was born Feb. 13, 1985, in Sanford, the son of Anthony Carl Gross and Norma (Jalbert) Gross. Dustin attended Buckfield schools, graduated from Buckfield High School and was taking classes in business management. He had been employed as produce manager at Wal-Mart for the past five years and always put his employees first, before himself. Dustin loved drawing, which he did wonderfully, he loved music, movies and the Odd Fellows Theater; his cats, Cougar and Crazy; his car; and his best friends, Nick Bolduc of Auburn, Tony Grillo of Lewiston, Justin Kangas of Westbrook and Nicole Satterthwaite of Greene. He loved his brother, Josh and he was the best older brother anyone could want, buying him movies, games and occasionally pizza. When he was younger, he liked to hike and collect minerals with his mom, dad and brother, Josh. Dustin will be remembered for his caring, thoughtfulness, compassion for the less fortunate and giving nature. He would spend his hard-earned money on his family because he wanted them to be happy. He had a great smile and a wonderful sense of humor. Dustin is survived by his mother, Norma Gross and her fianc?, Fern, of Auburn; his father, Anthony Gross and his fianc?e, Holly, of Buckfield; maternal grandmother, Jeanne Jalbert of Caribou; paternal grandmother, Joyce Gross of Sanford; two brothers, Sgt. Joshua Dowell, U.S. Army, and his wife, Mary, of Wiesbaden, Germany, and Daniel Gross of Buckfield; one niece, Mac-kenzie Dowell of Germany; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dustin will be missed by Holly’s children, Alex, Erica and Lindsay, and will be remembered lovingly by family, friends, co-workers and all who knew him in Buckfield and the surrounding towns. Dustin was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Euclid Jalbert; his paternal grandfather, Reginald Gross; and one uncle, Ken Jalbert. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Andrews Funeral Home, High Street, Buckfield. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Buckfield Community Church with the Rev. Timothy Knowles officiating. Burial will be at Wayside Cemetery, West Paris. The family suggests memorials in Dustin’s memory be made to a scholarship fund for Dustin’s brother, Daniel.
