ST. JOHN PLANTATION Edmund Daigle, 79, died Dec. 14, 2007, at his residence in St. John. He was born Oct. 9, 1928, in New Canada Plantation, the son of Willie H. and Flavie (Pelletier) Daigle. Edmund worked as a lineman for Maine Public Service for more than 30 years, until his retirement. Edmund is survived by his beloved wife, Verna (White) Daigle of St. John Plantation; three children, Kimberly Daigle of Biddeford, Dale Daigle of Limestone and Scott Daigle of Fort Kent; one granddaughter, Rebecca Martin of Fort Kent; six brothers, Norman Daigle of New Canada, Albert Daigle of Marlborough, Conn., Wilfred Daigle of Waterford, N.Y., Philip Daigle of Averill Park, N.Y., L. Paul Daigle of Queensbury, N.Y., and Berthol Daigle of Lisbon; three sisters, Rinette Lamore of Southington, Conn., Yvette Levesque of Windsor, Conn., and Bernadette Daigle of Bristol, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no viewing at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be held May 9, 2008, at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Kent. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being conducted by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
