CORINNA and NEWPORT – Edna M. Brown, 94, formerly of the Newport Inn, died June 27, 2006, at a Dexter healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 9, 1912, at Inverness, Prince Edward Island, Canada, a daughter of Alexander and Katherine (McNeill) Biggar. Edna was employed at the Snowflake Canning Co. in Corinna until it was destroyed by fire. She then worked and retired from the Eastland Woolen Mill, also of Corinna. She is survived by three sons, Sterling and wife, Vivian Biggar, of Junction City, Ore., Kenneth and wife, Gladys Brown, Stanley and wife, Wendy Brown, all of Corinna; nine grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, a special friend, Ted Cochran of Newport. She was predeceased by her husband, James Linwood Brown, Feb. 19, 1968; granddaughter, Lori (Brown) Gould, her husband, Dwayne, and their son, Justin and grandson, Kenneth S. Brown; brothers, Russell, Thomas, David, Sydney, Hardy, and a baby boy Biggar; sisters, Minnie Buck, Pearl McCloud, Bessie Noyes, Empress Brown, and Marguerite Anderson. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside committal service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 30, at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna, with the Rev. Ronald Parker officiating.
