DENNYSVILLE – Elizabeth “Betty” Wilder Ward, 91, passed away July 14, 2007, after a short stay at Oceanview Nursing Home, Lubec. Betty was born July 11, 1916, in Dennysville, to Theodore and Amy Wilder. Betty served our country as a machinist in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a member of the American Legion and the Denny’s River Sportsman’s Club. Betty enjoyed snowmobiling with her husband, Sam, playing bingo, creating beautiful needlepoint works of art and avidly watching the Boston Red Sox. In years past, Betty could be found on the Dennys River, catching the elusive and gorgeous Atlantic salmon. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 41 years, Blair “Sam” Ward; her sister, Beatrice McNair; and her wonderful little dog and faithful companion, Teddy. Betty is survived by a dear friend and relative, Erma Jane Wilder Small; her dear friends, Mary Pulk, Gail Preston, Marilyn Mahar; numerous nieces and nephews.
