BEALS – Ellis L. Drisko Jr., 83, passed away peacefully Jan. 30, 2007, at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 22, 1923, in Jonesport, the son of the late Ellis W. and Christianna (Alley) Drisko. He lobster fished from age 11 until his retirement at 76. Ellis was a member of Beals-Jonesport Co-Op. He cherished his memories of the good old days, learning how to ride a bike, climbing trees, his school days, his first power boat, going to the Red Barn Restaurant, making homemade ice cream, camping on several different islands, making molasses candy, volleyball, and he never would forget the day he almost lost Big Tom Bumble. These stories he had shared for many years with his family and friends. Ellis is survived by his daughter, Juanita Gray and son-in-law, Danny; two grandchildren, Daniel Ellis Gray and wife, Malinda and William Ralph Gray; two great-grand-children, Michael and Mac-Kenzie Gray, all of Addison; master’s beloved cat, Baby Girl; two brothers, George Drisko and wife, Barbara and Esten Drisko and wife, Etta; two nephews, David Drisko and Jody Alley; a niece, Aloma Alley; and special friends, Holly Alley, Melissa and Scotty Wright. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Virginia; a sister, Arlene Alley and her husband, Justin; nephews, Maynard and Dana; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Drisko. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Lamb of God Church, Jonesport, officiated by Pastor Dale Smith. Interment will take place at Sewell Field Cemetery, Beals.
