PRESQUE ISLE – Emely J. Johnston, 82, wife of the late Milton Johnston, died Oct. 24, 2004, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Earl and Julia (Ouellette) Dionne. She loved to cook and had been employed as a chef at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Connecticut for more than 10 years. Predeceasing her in addition to her husband was a sister, Adeline Dionne; and a brother, Leo Dionne. She is survived by a son, Tim Johnston of Presque Isle; a daughter, Debra Johnston of Middletown, Conn.; three sisters, Theresa LeBreche of Saskatchewan, Rita Hayward and Betty Anne McMackin, both of Fredericton, New Brunswick; five brothers, Lewis Dionne and Alex Dionne, both of Authurette, N.B., Bob Dionne of St. John, N.B., Ronald Dionne of Toronto, Ontario and Bill Dionne of Ottawa, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her beloved pets, Thistle the dog and Oscar the parrot. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Wolfgang A. Goettler officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Mission Cemetery in Autherette, N.B., Canada. Donations in her memory may be made to St Thomas Aquinas Seminary, 21077 Quarry Hill Road, Winona, MN 55987.
