PATTEN – Esther F. Harris, 75, went to be with her Lord Feb. 24, 2007, in Patten. She was born June 23, 1931, in Stacyville, the daughter of Leo and Damaris (Stewart) Boynton. Esther was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Spc. Dustin J. Harris, April 2006. She graduated from Patten Academy in 1949, where she was valedictorian. She married Rodney Harris Oct. 25, 1949. She was a life long member of Stetson Memorial United Meth-odist Church of Patten, where she taught Sunday school; was treasurer and church scheduler; and was also a member of the U.M.W. Esther was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother; was a career homemaker, seamstress and a vital part of the family farm. Along with her loving husband of 57 years, Rodney of Patten, she is survived by three children and their spouses, Debbie and Kemp Coolong of Patten, Lynn and Duane Merry of Sherman and Scott and Lorna Harris of Patten; five grandchildren, Eric and Billie Jo Davenport of Medway, Emily Davenport and Nick Winchester of Hampden, Tellis Coolong of Stillwater, Melissa Coolong of Orono and Dylan Harris of Patten; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Leighton and Deavin Davenport of Medway and Alexandria and Mackenzie Winchester of Hampden; one brother, Laurel Boynton of Stacyville, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, with a celebration of Esther’s life being held 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Tae Sung Kang officiating.
