BANGOR – Etta F. Smith, 91, wife of the late Clifford B. Smith, died Oct. 2, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 8, 1914, in Wade Plantation. Etta and Clifford operated Garden Ridge Farm, a family dairy farm, for more than 50 years. They were very proud of their herd of registered golden Guernseys. Etta and Clifford raised four daughters, Freida Millett, Carolyn Vague, Judith Perkins and Kathie Stubbs. Surviving are seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Finson Road, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher of All Souls Congregational Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service.
