STETSON – Evelyn C. (Bryer) Ryder, 65, also known as Evey or Babe, and the wife of Dennis Ryder Sr., died unexpectedly Dec. 28, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. Evelyn was born Feb. 21, 1942, in Bangor, the daughter of Wallace and Irene Bryer. Evelyn had a big heart and was very giving to anyone. She enjoyed helping friends, baking cakes, helping strangers in need and playing with her grandbabies. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Dennis; her children, Denise and husband, Joseph, Dennis and wife, Terry, Evelyn and husband, Kevin; other special children, Mason, Greg, Rose and Joe; grandchildren, Marie, Frankie, Brandon, Joseph and Brenden; sisters, Ruby, Barbara, Linda, Lorraine and Rena; brothers, Bob, Sonny and Billy; special family and friends, Joan and Howard, Jennie and Merle; as well as many other relatives and friends, too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, with Pastor Ronnie Libby, pastor of Souls Harbor Ministries, officiating.
