MONTICELLO – Everett Burton Lenentine, 84, died July 4, 2006, at a local healthcare facility. He was born April 19, 1922, in Monticello, the son of Burton R. and Thelma L. (Rush) Lenentine. Everett was a member of the Monticello Community Wesleyan Church, the Monticello Fish and Game Club, past member of Kiwanis, the Houlton Promenader’s Square Dance Club, the American Legion, the Retired Postmasters, and retired farmer and postmaster of Monticello. Everett liked to travel and a trip to Russia was the highlight of his travels, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was educated in Monticello school, Ricker High and graduated from Ricker College. He was in the U.S. Army before his life as a farmer. Everett is survived by one son, Burton E. Lenentine and his wife, Suzanne, of Monticello; a daughter, Paula (Lenentine) Puska and her husband, Peter, of Florida; a step-daughter, Geraldine (Flemming) Black and her husband, Joseph, of Monticello; a nephew, raised as a son, Wayne A. Davenport and his wife, Robin, of Levant; six grandchildren, Adam H. Lenentine and his wife, Tammy, of Vermont, Andrea Anderson and her husband, Wilbur, of Old Town, Bobby Jo and Darcy Black, Vanessa and Victoria Davenport; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nicole Lenentine, Caleb and Madison Black; one step great- grandson, Christopher Anderson. At Everett’s request there will be no calling hours, but friends and family are invited to a graveside service 2 p.m. Saturday at Jewell Cemetery, Monticello.
