FRANCIS E. GERRISH SEARSMONT – Francis E. Gerrish, 97, of Searsmont, died July 27, 2005 at her home. Born in Appleton, June 1, 1908, she was the daughter of Harry and Olive (Wood) Fogg. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Victor Grange in Searsmont, the American Legion and the R.S.V.P. in Rockland and Belfast. She was a life member of the Tri-Town Snowmobile Club and a life member of the Searsmont Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Willis; two daughters, Elizabeth Bauer and Shirley Gerrish; three sons, Horace, Norman, Robert; two sisters and one brother. Francis is survived by six children, Helen Landry of New Bedford, Mass., Harriett Brierly and her husband, Bruce, of N. Searsmont, Ruth Littlefield and her husband, Virgil Jr., of Searsmont, Donald Gerrish and his wife, Carol, of Belfast, Dorothy Bryant and her husband, Lloyd, of Belmont, and Matthew Gerrish and his life partner, Cindy Russ, of Searsmont; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grand-children, several nieces and nephews, special care providers, Kay and Polly and her beloved pet, Lady. Donations preferred to the Belfast Animal Shelter or the Searsmont Methodist Church. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005. Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Searsmont. Arrangements are with Rackliffe Funeral Home, 54 Church St., Belfast. www.dignitymemorial.com
