PASSADUMKEAG – Frederick A. York, 61, passed away July 4, 2007, surrounded by his loving family at his residence after a long illness. He was born July 22, 1945, in Millinocket, the son of Amasa A. and Marilyn (Curtis) York. He is survived by his wife, Kim; three children and one granddaughter, Tommy York of Costa Mesa, Calif., Rachael York and Mary Lynn Smith, both of Howland, and Rebecca and her husband, Scott Hallett, of Howland. Frederick is also survived by one sister, Lois Thurlow; two brothers, Samuel York and his wife, Ethel, and Richard York and his wife, Bonnie; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Fred enlisted in the Army in 1964. He went through basic training at Fort Dix, N.J. Fred received advanced infantry and communications training in Georgia. He served in Germany for six months before volunteering to serve in Vietnam. He served as a communications lineman in Vietnam for four and one half years. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the funeral home.
