TOPSFIELD and PUTNAM, Conn. – Gail M. Jason, 57, of Putnam, Conn., formerly of Topsfield, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Haven Health Care, Danielson, Conn. She was the wife of the late August R. Jason, who died April 3, 2003. She was born Sept. 17, 1949, in Topsfield, daughter of Barbara (Noyes) Rhoades and the late John Rhoades. She had worked for the last nine years as a shipping clerk at Crabtree & Evelyn, Woodstock; and at Colony Corp., Putnam, Conn. She had made her home in Putnam, Conn., for the last 30 years. She was a graduate of Lee Academy, Lee. She enjoyed baking and was a member of the Cooking Club of America. Throughout the years, she attended adult education classes and Quinebaug Community College. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by all. She leaves, in addition to her mother, Barbara; a daughter, Tina Marie Couturier of Putnam, Conn.; siblings, Grace Haraba and husband, Richard, of Blair, Minn., Daniel Rhoades and his wife, Joyce, of Topsfield, Marion and her husband, Vaughn Monk, of Topsfield, Edgar Rhoades and his wife, Cindy, of Topsfield and Mary Rhoades of Lincoln; a special aunt, Nina Rhoades of Topsfield; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Gail and her husband, August, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Rhoades Family Cemetery, Topsfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Red Cross, Pine Tree Chapter, 33 Mildred Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
