FRANKFORT – Gary W. Tripp, 64, died July 16, 2007. He was born April 17, 1943, in Belfast, the son of Cecelia (Nickerson) and Clarence E. Tripp. He was a graduate of Searsport District High School, Class of 1961. Gary retired from International Paper Co., Bucksport, after 26 years of service. He was also a member of the Mariners Lodge No. 68 AF & AM, Searsport. Gary was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, spending time at his camp on Swan Lake and working on his land. He had a great sense of humor and quick wit. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sally (York) Tripp; his sons, Michael Tripp and his wife, Lisa, Wayne Tripp and his wife, Karen, all of Frankfort; daughter, Jacqueline Beals and her husband, Bill, of Winslow; grandchildren, Kallie, Emily, Devin, Lexi, and Regan. Gary is also survived by his mother, Cecelia Tripp of Frankfort; brothers, Weldon Tripp of Frankfort, Robert Tripp of Frankfort; sisters, Doris Tripp of Frankfort, Dawn and her husband, Jim Landry, of Frankfort, Sharon and her husband, David Michaud, of Gorham; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Gary was predeceased by his father, Clarence Tripp, in October 1999. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St., Searsport. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Smart Cemetery, Belfast, with the Rev. David Abbott officiating.
