MADAWASKA – Gerald H. Bourgoin, 72, passed away July 3, 2007, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born Oct. 2, 1934, the son of Hubald and Modeste (Pelletier) Bourgoin. He served in the Korean War and was a life member of the American Legion, Madawaska. Gerald served in the National Guards for 17 years and was employed at Fraser Paper for 38 years, as a mill wright. He is survived by his beloved wife, Verna (Cyr) Bourgoin of Madawaska; two sons and their wives, Gaetan and Nancy Bourgoin, and Pete and Karen Bourgoin, all of Madawaska; two daughters and their husbands, Joan and John Collin of St. Agatha, and Kathleen and Benoit Caron of Packington, Quebec; five grandchildren, Amy, Stacie, Ashley, Jason, and Kevin; one great-grandson, Aiden Collin; one brother, Paul Bourgoin of Madawaska; and one sister, Jeanette Pelletier of Madawaska. Gerald was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Ned and George; and one sister, Prisilla. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Friends and family may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
