CORINNA – Gertrude P. Cox, 80, died Jan. 12, 2004, at her Corinna residence. She was born July 11, 1923, at Malden, Mass., a daughter of Roland and Sadie (Nickerson) Faulkner. She graduated from Malden (MA) High School and Fisher Junior College. She retired as an administrative assistant from the Dexter House Nursing Center in Malden, Mass., in 1990, moving to Corinna that same year. She was a longtime member of the Centre Methodist Church of Malden, Mass. She is survived by her loving companion of 33 years, Ralph C. O’Brien of Corinna; her children, Ron Cox of Gloucester, Mass., Nancy Crafts of Malden, Mass., Rick Cox of Las Vegas, Nev., and Bruce Cox of Austin, Texas; a special granddaughter, Jennifer Massow of St. Albans; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Cox; and her children, Marilyn Redford and Stephen Cox. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the High Street Church, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Spring burial will be in Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.
