CARIBOU – Gilbert Guerrette 71, died June 29, 2005, at Caribou. He was born Dec. 6, 1933, in Mada-waska, the son of Joseph and Alice (Saucier) Guerrette. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and on Sept. 10, 1955, he married Madeline St. Peter. Mr. Guerrette was employed by the Caribou School Dept. as head custodian and school bus driver at Caribou High School for more than 27 years. He was an active and faithful member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister, was in the church choir, and was past president of the Parish Council. Gil was a Fourth Degree member and past Grand Knight of the Fred V. Brescia Council Knights of Columbus Council 1870 and was also a member of the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion. Surviving in addition to his wife, Madeline, of Caribou; are two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Phyllis Guerrette and Patrick and Jill Guerrette, all of Caribou; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Christine and Paul Thomas of Winterport, Kathy and Ray Cunrod and Lori Guerrette, all of Caribou; one brother and sister-in- law Robert and Mary Guerrette of Caribou; four sisters and two brothers-in-law; Bertha and Frank Clapp and Bernadette Annance, all of Greenville, Shirley and Don Baillergeon and Jackie Leavitt, all of Dover Foxcroft; 12 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday July 2, 2005, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, officiating, assisted by Mr. Guerrette’s great-nephew, Fr. Kevin Martin. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and all of the Staff and Cary Medical Center for the care they gave both to Mr. Guerrette and the family during his illness.
