ADDISON – Gladys P. Crowley, 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born June 23, 1915, in Addison, a daughter of Neal D. and Phoebe (Joy) Plummer. Gladys married Lawrence “Bill” Crowley in 1933, and together they had four children. Her husband predeceased her in 1990. She was also predeceased by two brothers and a sister. Gladys will be remembered as a woman who liked simple things, and desired and embraced a connection with family and close friends. She was self sacrificing and honest. She also prided herself on her cooking. It was always a treat to go to Gladys’ for a dinner or supper! She is survived by a daughter, Florence “Flo” Mayne and her husband, Robert “Bob”, of Browns Mills, N. J.; three sons, Glendon Crowley of Columbia, Fred Crowley of Addison and his friend, Linda Harmon, of Columbia Falls, and Wayne Crowley and his wife, Mary Therese “M.T.” Clark, of West Bath; a brother, Irving Plummer and his wife, Barbara, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by a special cousin, Barbara Wheeler of Augusta. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15. Interment will be at Mailey Hill Cemetery, Columbia. Gifts in memory of Gladys may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
