BUCKSPORT – Marguerite (Miggs) Doyle Connor, wife of the late Leo Connor, passed away after a long illness, Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at her daughter, Carol’s home in Bucksport, surrounded by her family. She was born in South Brewer, the daughter of James Doyle and Florence (Dinsmore) Doyle. She was a lab technician for many years. After retiring, she volunteered at the Downeast School, where she was known as “Grammy” to the children. She is survived by her son, Robert Connor and Dorothy, of Tennessee; three daughters, Mary Ellen Roberts and Gary, of Searsport, Connie J. Connor and Patricia, of Orrington and Carol A. Hamilton and Susan, of Bucksport; a very special sister, Fern Golightly of Bangor; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Paul, of Oregon; her daughter, Patricia of Bangor; three sisters; and five brothers. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, South Main Street, Brewer, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
