AUBURN – Gloria M. Girouard, 75, of 6 Hillmount Dr., Lewiston, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with her family and friends by her side following a short illness. She was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Bangor, the daughter of Kenneth and Edith (Philbrook) Kilby and had been a resident of this community for most of her life. She attended Bangor schools and was a 1948 graduate of Bangor High School. She was married for 49 years to Donald R. Girouard, whom she married Feb. 12, 1949 and he died Nov. 11, 1998. She had worked in concession stands at Maine Raceways and was most recently employed at Dube’s Flower Shop. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and Queen Ann’s Sodality. Gloria was a dedicated mother and housewife. She had a great love for her family, friends and especially her dog, Suzette. She is survived by her mother, Edith MacDonald of Lewiston; two sons, Daniel Girouard of Lewiston and William Girouard of Holden; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, William Kilby of Bangor. A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made in Gloria’s memory to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240. A memorial gathering will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the family owned Pinette Funeral Chapel, 1065 Lisbon St., Lewiston.
