BANGOR – Gloria Dawn (Miles) Haskell, 71, wife of Raymond Earle Haskell, died March 10, 2007, after a brief illness. She was born March 5, 1936, in Old Town, the daughter of Clayton Miles and Minerva Burr. Gloria graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1954. She attended Bentley Business College, Boston. She worked as a bookkeeper for Hannaford Supermarkets for 30 years. Gloria was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. She had a love for animals. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles. She looked forward to monthly luncheons with her lady friends. Surviving in addition to her husband, Ray, are her four children, Deborah and her husband, Dr. Richard Placek, of Springdale, Ark., James and his wife, Rose Provost, of Albion, Deanna and her husband, Harry Packer, of Old Town and Dawn and her husband, William Ayer, of Bangor; four stepchildren, Jeffrey and his wife, Cindy Haskell, of Englewood, Fla.; Steven and his wife, Deborah Haskell, of Rockland, Mass.; Laura and her husband, Larry Fordahl, of Tucson, Ariz., and David Haskell of Sarasota, Fla.; grand-children, Travis, Kristen and Meghan Placek, all of Springdale, Ark., Melanie (Provost) Darcy and her husband, Paul, of Norwood, Mass., Lucas Provost and his fianc?e, Heather Horner, of Albion, Jeremy Landry and his wife, Katarzyna, of Brewer, twins, Jason and Justin Landry of Old Town, Joseph Leroy Tuck of Bangor; one great-grandbaby, Joseph Stephen Landry of Brewer; stepgrandchildren, Shannon and Matthew Haskell of Englewood, Fla.; Christopher Haskell of Rockland, Mass.; Nathan, Gabriel, Caleb and Lane Fordahl of Tucson, Ariz.; two special aunts, Mildred Batson of Dexter, and Jeannie Rogers and her husband, Dustin, of Bangor; cousins; her former husband, Edward Provost and his wife, Irma, of Albion. She was predeceased by her step-father, Thornton “Huck” Burr; and a sister, Ruby Miles. The family invites relatives and friends to a gathering 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
