BUCKSPORT – Gordon P. Eaton, 77, husband of 32 years to Loretta M. Eaton, died peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Medical and Regional Office Center, Togus, following a long illness. He was born Nov. 4, 1927, in Woburn, Mass., a son of the late Frank and Pearl (Foster) Eaton. Gordon attended local area schools and attended Ricker Junior College in Houlton. He worked for the Houlton Potato House and was a brakeman for Bangor and Aroostook Railroad. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 20 years, retiring in 1967. He then worked at the Bangor Post Office, retiring after 15 years. Gordon was predeceased by a brother, Frank K. Eaton, and a sister, Marilyn Catanzaro. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Loretta (Desjardins) Eaton of Bucksport; his children, Betty Parker and her husband, Les, of Pueblo, Colo., Sharon Cliche and her husband, Ray, of Brookfield, Mass., Debbie Fournier and her husband, Tom, of South Portland, Gordon S. Eaton and his wife, Dawn, of Bridgton; his step-children, Diane Caron of Augusta, Ron Robichaud and his wife, Lori, of Gray, Connie Robichaud of Bangor, Theresa Murphy and her husband Douglas, of Nokomis, Fla., Donna Bergeron and her husband, Richard, of Winthrop and Jerry Robichaud and his wife, Hilda, of Bangor; a brother, Ralph Wesley Eaton and his wife, Peggy, of Paramis, N.J.; a brother-in-law, Charles Catanzaro of Bucksport; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Eaton, of Cold Spring, N.Y.; six grandchildren, four great-grand-children, several stepgrandchildren, great-stepgrand-children, nieces, nephews and cousins. At his request, there will be no public visiting hours. A committal service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, in the chapel at the New Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
