EDDINGTON – Harold S. Drew, 85, husband of Mary L. (Clark) Drew, died April 18, 2005, at his home in Eddington. He was born May 19, 1919, in Haynesville, the son of Samuel and Winifred (Buchannon) Drew. Harold was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the Third Armored Spearhead Division and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was employed by Sanborn Motor Express for 35 years retiring in 1980 and worked for Shop-n-Save in Brewer for 10 years during his retirement. Harold was a member of the Isaac E. Clewley VFW Post No. 4917, Brewer, the Ralph J. Pollard Lodge No. 217, Orrington, and the Anah Temple Shrine, and he was a founding member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Joshua Chamberlain Chapter No.1865. Surviving in addition to his wife of 65 years of Bangor, are three children, Judith Griffin and her companion, Robert Young, of South Weymouth, Mass., Samuel Drew and his wife, Kathy, of Clifton, and Christine Nisbett of Bucksport; 12 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; one brother, Harry Drew of Guilford; and four sisters, Marion Brezder of Illinois, Dorothy Myers of Bangor, Carlene Murphy of Indiana and Glenna Rick of Missouri; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased a daughter, Joanne Young, and several siblings. A memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer.
