MASARDIS – Harriet Faye Hafford, loving wife of Harry C. Hafford, died July, 16, 2005, at her home in Masardis, after fighting a year long battle with cancer. Harriet was born Aug. 17, 1941, in Castlehill, the daughter of Edwin and Zelma McLellan. Prior to her retirement in 2003, Harriet worked for 35 years in the banking system in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine. Harriet enjoyed gardening and especially enjoyed her flowers. Surviving in addition to her husband are stepsons, Harry C. Hafford Jr. and wife, Heather, of North Pole, Alaska and Tyrone K. Hafford of Bristol, Conn.; brothers, James McLellan and wife, Violet, Edwin (Junior) McLellan and wife, Jeannie, and Andrew McLellan and wife, Denise, all of Presque Isle; sisters, Brenda Wesley and husband, Neil, of Pittsfield, Mass., Esther Pinette and husband, Donald, of Bristol, Conn., Pearl Grant and special friend, Wm Carrigan, of Pittsfield, Mass.; and six stepgrandchildren. Harriet was predeceased by a sister, Mary Belanger, in 2004. Services will be held July 21, 2005, at the VFW Hall in Ashland, with calling at 10 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. Harriet’s ashes will be interred in the Columbarium Wall at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
