MADAWASKA – Hector Gendreau, 86, died at his residence on Nov. 29, 2003. He was born Oct. 7, 1917, in St. David (Petite Montagne), son of Joseph T. and Edith (Clavette) Gendreau. He is survived by three daughters, Vivian Meier of Rockford, Ill., Verna Rock of Storrs, Conn., and Theresa Devereux of Mansfield, Conn.; five sons, James of Grand Isle, Richard and Thomas of Madawaska, Wilfred of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and Robert of Presque Isle; three brothers, Ernest and Clifford of St. David and Roger of Madawaska; two sisters, Marie Mae Ouellette of Enfield, Conn., and Claudette Mavor of Madawaska; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by five sisters, Sadie Couture, Edwina Sirois, Jeanne Marquis, Olivine Desjardins, and Bernice Daigle; and three brothers, Willard, Wilfred and Aurele. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the St Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska with Father James Albert officiating. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the Daigle Funeral Home.
