ROCKPORT – Helen C. “Dee” McCormick, 71, died July 19, 2007, at Pen Bay Medical Center, Rockport. She was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Anson, a daughter of Howard and Arlene Cowan. She worked as a secretary at the University of Maine – Farmington. Helen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved going to camp at East Carry Pond, knitting and doing crossword puzzles. She was predeceased by her parents; a son, David McCormick; one sister and three brothers. Helen is survived by her husband of 52 years, William “Ross” R. McCormick; a daughter, Debra Seeley of Winslow; a son, William “Butch” McCormick Jr. of Wilton; a sister, Florice Harlow; two brothers, Walter and Edward Cowan; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass will be held 10 a.m. July 28, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7 Union St., Camden, with Father Art Pechillo officiating. Those who wish may make donations in Helen’s memory to either Our Lady of Good Hope Church or ALS Association, NNE Chapter, The Concord Center, P.O. Box 314, Concord, NH 03301. Arrangements are under care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
