COLUMBIA FALLS – Helen R. Grant, 89, died Feb. 12, 2004, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born May 23, 1914, at Columbia Falls, the daughter of Jared and Susie (Watson) Rockwell. Helen was a graduate of Columbia Falls High School and Washington State Normal School. She taught school in Columbia Falls and Addison for 41 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Addison. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Warren Grant. She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Worcester of Columbia Falls; her daughter and husband, Joanne and Randy Gray of Brewer; a grandson, Aaron Gray also of Brewer; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Pineo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. At Helen’s request there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in Helen’s memory to the Down East Community Hospital, RR 1 Box 11, Machias, ME 04654. Arrangements are in the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
