LINCOLN – Helen (Smith) Farrington, 96, wife of the late Seldon Farrington, died May 16, 2007, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born March 30, 1911, in Chester, to Sylvester “Bessie” and Jessie (Beathem) Smith. She married Seldon Farrington, Sept. 14, 1929, and they made their home in Lincoln for more than 66 years and spent 11 winters in Kissimmee, Fla. Helen was a lifetime member of the Farm Bureau Extension and was their foods leader for many years. Helen and Seldon spent many happy hours fishing, hunting and camping with friends, and Sunday afternoons watching wildlife on the back roads of Maine. She leaves a daughter, Priscilla Wight of Lincoln; son, Phillip and wife, Jane (Whalen) Farrington, of Chester and Alaska; grandchildren, Paulette Rader and Steve of Liverpool, N.Y., Stephen and Hollie Farrington, Leola and Roger Penman, and Virginia and Harvard Holmes, all of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Adrian W. and Amanda McComb of Bangor, Silas and Caleb Rader of Liverpool, N.Y., Daniel and Wendy McComb, Nicholas Holmes, Jessica Holmes, Katie and Peter Bates, Joshuah, Keegan, and Koby Farrington, all of Lincoln; great-great-grandchildren, Shawna, Adrian J. and Logan, all of Bangor, Natalie Bates and Daymion McComb of Lincoln. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Seldon; and great-great-grandson, Andrew Holmes. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
