BANGOR and MALDEN, Mass. – I. Edith Lombardi died Aug. 26, 2007, at a Bangor hos-pital after an illness of several years. She was born in New Haven, Conn., and then her family moved to Malden, Mass. She graduated from Malden High School and Massachusetts School of Fine Arts, Boston. While working for the Internal Revenue Services in Boston for 40 years, she took a leave of absence to attend the University of Florence, Italy, for one year to further her education in art. She was a member of the Grey Ladies Organization during World War II, a member of the Literary Guild of Boston and other charitable organizations while residing in Massachusetts. She lived in Bangor with her brother Lt. Col. Dennis J. Lombardi for 10 years. Edith is survived by a sister, Elizabeth L. Aiello of Ocala, Fla.; a nephew, A. Peter Vose; a niece, Corinne Warner; and several other nieces and nephews, all of Malden, Mass. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, Catholic Chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital, celebrant.
