STILLWATER – Irma S. (Strout) Goodnow DeGrasse, 92, died Nov. 13, 2007. She was the wife of the late William Goodnow and Jim DeGrasse. She was born Oct. 5, 1915, the daughter of Alden and Ula (Flagg) Strout. Irma worked for nearly 40 years at Bradford Insurance Agency, Orono, which later be-came Dawson-Bradford Insurance, until she retired in 1991. She was a member of the Insurance Women of Maine and Veazie Senior Citizens Club. Irma is survived by her daughters, Sandra Russell and her husband, Bill, of Stillwater, and Glenna Goodnow of Weymouth, Mass.; stepson, Joseph DeGrasse and his wife, Suzanne, of Hudson; three stepgranddaughters; and close friends who were like family, Sue Marcotte of Weymouth, Mass., Jan Barker of Alton and Barbara Dupuis of Old Town. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Horace and Clarence Strout; first husband, Bill Goodnow; and second husband, Jim DeGrasse. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home with the Rev. Joan DeSanctis officiating. Interment will be after at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at Holy Family Parish Hall, which is accessible from the Brunswick Street entrance of the church parking lot. Because Irma loved animals and provided a home for many stray kittens and cats throughout the years, memorial gifts may be made to the Old Town/Orono Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box 565, Orono, ME 04473.
