DYER BROOK – Isabell McNelly, 85, died Oct. 20, 2006, in Houlton. She was born May 27, 1921, in Merrill, the daughter of James and Vera (Tozier) Roach. She graduated from Merrill High School, was a registered nurse, worked at Head Start and was a member of the Dyer Brook Community Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and an Awana volunteer. She is survived by three children, Brian and his wife, Linda McNelly, of Florida, Stephen and his wife, Helen McNelly, of Lisbon and Jean and her husband, Peter Cannon, of Dyer Brook; six grandchildren, Paul, Sarah, Lee, Amy, Julie and Violet; one great-granddaughter, Renee Faulkner; one sister, Corris Ann Giggey of Orono; one brother, James Roach of Merrill. She was predeceased by her husband, Laurel “Jiggs”; one son, Robbie; a sister, Nellie; a twin brother, Eugene. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dyer Brook Community Church with the Revs. Andy Harthorne and Thomas Buckley officiating. Interment will be at the Dyer Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dyer Brook Community Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
