IVAN E. O’HARA JR SILVER RIDGE – Ivan E. O’Hara Jr., 77, died Oct. 4, 2003, at his home. He was born March 2, 1926, in Silver Ridge, the son of Ivan and Virgie (McEwen) O’Hara Sr. Jr. was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marines and receiving a purple heart. He was a member and past master of Molunkus Lodge No.165 AF & AM of Sherman, Anah Shriners of Bangor, Molunkus Valley Chapter No. 95 OES, and a member of the Monarda Calvary Baptist Church. He was a Boy Scout leader and ran O’Hara’s Gulf for 16 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce (Humphrey) O’Hara; one son, James and his wife, Julie O’Hara; and one daughter, Janet and her husband, Brent Day, all of Silver Ridge; one daughter-in-law, Vicki O’Hara of Sherman; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Michelle, Carrie, Wesley, Chad, Dustin and Megan; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Beverly O’Hara of Freeport; several nieces and nephews, and one special nephew, Maynard Morrison. He was predeceased by two sons, Gary Ivan and John Fred O’Hara. Friends may call 12-2 p.m. Monday at the Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carlton Huntley officiating Interment will be in the Silver Ridge Cemetery.
