GLENBURN – Jacqueline “Meme” Lee, 72, died peacefully, after a brief illness, March 12, 2005, with her family at her bedside. She was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Bangor, the daughter of Arthur F. Wardwell Sr. and Mildred C. (McMahone) Wardwell. Jacqui graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1951 and the University of Maine at Orono, Class of 1955. She taught kindergarten in the Bangor school system for 37 years. Jacqui was a member of the NEA and the MTA. Jacqui was a summer resident of Castine and after retirement enjoyed eight years there. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Richard P. Lee Sr. of Glenburn; two children, Richard P. Lee Jr. and his girlfriend, Brenda Thurlow, of Buckfield, Lori Ann Parker and her husband, Christopher, of Bangor; six grandchildren, Jessica Doucette and her husband, Josh, of Old Town; Richard P. Lee III and his fianc?e, Alisha Wood, of Glenburn; Sean Michael Parker, Kristin Ann Parker, and Megan Elizabeth Parker, all of Bangor, Jackie Joella Lee of Buckfield; two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Sierra Lee of Glenburn and Brodi David Doucette of Old Town; one brother, Arthur F. Wardwell Jr. (Capt. Ret. USN) of San Diego, Calif.; many nieces and nephews; Jacqui’s cherished pet dog, Chou-Chou. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, officiating. Interment will be in Castine in the spring. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service.
