BREWER – James G. Soucy, 72, died Feb. 7, 2004, at his home in Brewer. He was born Oct. 23, 1931, in Bangor, the son of Frank and Mary (Veilleux) Soucy. He graduated from John Bapst High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor. Jim was employed at the A&P Tea Co. for 17 years before going into business for himself as owner and wholesale distributor of Page Farms Cottage Cheese for 10 years. Jim later became a salesman for Barclay, Brown and Kavanaugh of Massachusetts. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy (Pomroy) Soucy of Brewer; one son, Gary and his wife, Lynn Soucy, of Brewer; one daughter, Renee and her husband, David Calderwood, of Hermon; three grandchildren, Kaylee Soucy, Laura and Tyler Calderwood; two brothers, Frank and his wife, Mary Soucy, of Bangor, D. Donald and his wife, Connie Soucy, of Bangor; one sister, Mary and her husband, Peter Gilgan, of Bangor; one brother-in-law, Keith Pomroy and his wife, Andrea, of Ripley; many nieces, nephews and cousins and in-laws. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. John’s Catholic Church, York St., Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments following the services Wednesday in the St. John Parish Hall. Spring Interment will be in Charleston Village Cemetery.
