BREWER – James W. Cushing, 83, husband of Dorothy (Finn) Cushing, died Oct. 5, 2007, surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor hospital nine days prior to their 60th wedding anniversary. Jim served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for many years for Bangor Mental Health Institute. Jim was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer. He also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and going to camp. Surviving are three children, Katheryn Aucoin and her husband, Philip, of Waterford, Vt., Connie Coulter and her husband, Malcolm, of Holden and Patricia Elliott and her husband, David, of Orrington; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Allen Cushing of Portsmouth, N.H., and Mrs. George Cushing of Milton, Vt.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Monday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Richard McLaughlin, celebrant. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Family and friends are invited to the parish center after the service for continued fellowship.
