BROOKS – James W. Mollison, 89, of Brooks, died peacefully at a local healthcare facility Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, with his nieces Mary McCormick and Anna Fortenberry by his side. He was born Nov. 10, 1915, in Condorrat, Scotland. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Sybil; his brother, Alan; and his sister, Agnes. He is survived by his brother, John Y. Mollison Sr. and his wife, Marie, whom he loved deeply; he has several nieces and nephews, and a beloved friend and companion, Dorothy Van Chough; and good neighbor, Beulah Cunningham. He was a brother, husband, mason and World War II vet., a member of the American Legion, and more than anything else a friend to all who crossed his path. James was a diesel mechanic and worked at Unity Raceway for many years. Some of his accomplishments include past deputy grand mastor, Grand Lodge of Maine, past grand commander Grand Commandery of Maine, most wise master Scotish Rite, Rockland, past master Marsh River Lodge, Brooks, most high Priest RAC, past post elustrious master of council, Belfast, past grand commander Grand Commandery of Maine, order of high Priesthood of Maine, order of the silver trowel, member of KYCH of Maine, member Royal Order of Scotland, past patron Prim Rose Chapter OES, director Belfast Assembly No. 40 Intl. order of the rainbow for girls, active member of many other Masonic bodies, past sovereign Tamerlane Conclade of Bangor, M.I. past grand sovereign of KRCC of Maine, past president P.O.A. of Maine, 32 degree Mason Valley of Rockland. He will be remembered by many with his contagious smile, his beautiful singing and the wink in his eye. A special thanks to Dr. Thomas Maycock and the staff on Dogwood at Tall Pines Health Care Facility for their loving care and kindness and making his life easier. Friends may call 5-6 p.m. Friday, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday.
