CARIBOU – Janice M. Norris, 82, died June 2, 2008, in Caribou. She was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Richmond, Va., the daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy (Morrison) Norris. She was a graduate of Madawaska High School, as well as Madigan School of Nursing, Houlton. Ms. Norris was a registered nurse for more than 38 years and was employed as the nursing supervisor at a Hartford, Conn., hospital for many years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a member of Ladies of St. Anne, as well as Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of Lister-Knowlton Post No. 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, served as a volunteer at Cary Medical Center for a number of years and was an active member of Ladies Bowling League, Caribou. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Getchell of Caribou; a special niece, Mary Carlene Gagnon of Caribou; four nephews, Chip Getchell of Salem, Ind., David Getchell of Upper Kent, New Brunswick, Michael Graham and Billy Graham, both of East Hartford, Conn.; three nieces, Cathie Barthelemy of Caribou, Mary Totten of East Hartford, Conn., and Patty Graham of Winsted, Conn.; many great-nieces, great- nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Janice was predeceased by her sister and husband, Dorothy and Robert Graham; a nephew, Bobby Graham; and a brother-in-law, Russell Getchell Jr. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where members of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella and Ladies of St. Anne will gather 7:30 p.m. for evening services. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
