BANGOR – Jennie “Betty” Harris, 75, died Aug. 10, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 22, 1931, in Bangor, the daughter of Joseph and Fanny Harris. Betty worked at Phoenix Ministries since 1997. She loved her dog, Jester, horses and horseback riding. She also enjoyed other animals, watching basketball, Jeopardy and Alex Trebek. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her roommate of 17 years, Frances Golden. She is survived by her housemates and staff of PAHDC, especially Val, where she resided for 19 years. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Fairview Cemetery, Veazie with the Rev. Al Coffey officiating.
