ASHLAND – Joan Beaulier, 85, wife of John Beaulier, died July 31, 2007, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. She was born Jan. 4, 1922, at Eagle Lake, the daughter of Maxine and Delina (Laferriere) Dube. She was raised by her sister, Delia; and brother-in-law, Vin Shaw. She graduated from Madawaska Training School, Fort Kent, in 1941, second in her class, and she taught school in Sheridan. She also worked in the family business, Beaulier Oil Co. She enjoyed time spent with her family, her flower gardens, cooking, knitting for her family, and spending time with her friends. She was a member of St. Mark’s Sodality and the VFW Auxiliary, Ashland. She is survived by her husband, John of Ashland, whom she married Aug. 20, 1946; her children, Ann and her husband, Paul Masterson, of Windham, N.H., Jean and her husband, Leo Rafford, of Yarmouth, Rosemary and her husband, George Bourette, of Boothbay Harbor, Rebecca and her husband, David Billings, of Brunswick, John and his wife, Susan, of Ashland, and James and his wife, Michelle, of Nashville Plantation; her grandchildren, Derek Monson and his wife, Jessica, Megan (Monson) and her husband, Richard Armstrong, Erica, Melissa, and Adam Rafford, Bethany (Nadeau) Dame and her husband, Michael, Jessica Nadeau, Liza, Margo and Delia Billings, Jordan Shaw Beaulier, Allyx and Jarrett Beaulier; her stepgrandchildren, Paul Masterson Jr. and his wife, Victoria, Laura Masterson, Rachel and Alexander Gillis; her great-grandchildren, Jack and Paul Armstrong and Avery Ann Monson. She is also survived by two sisters, Jeanne Woods of Connecticut and Leonette Michaud of Eagle Lake. She was predeceased by her sisters, Delia, Laudia, Sonja, Amelda, and Bertha; and her brothers, Max, Emile, Aldo, Lionel, Leo, and Lucien. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
