ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. and DOVER-FOXCROFT – JoAnne R. (Averill) Hobbs, 67, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 7, 2004, with her family by her side. She was born on Aug. 21, 1936, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Henry and Isabel Averill. JoAnne was a lifelong learner with many accomplishments. She was a licensed hairdresser and enjoyed caring for the elderly. She loved traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart, Edward Hobbs and their eight children; Jeffrey Hobbs and his wife, Mamie, of Millinocket, Joyce Patterson and her husband, Bill, of Dexter, Pamula Bissonnette and her husband, George, of Shelburne, Vt., Deborah Donovan and her husband, Kevin, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Edward Hobbs of Parkman, Andrew Hobbs and his wife, Susan, of Pinellas Park, Fla., Lorinda Newmister and her husband, David, of York, Pa., Kenneth Hobbs and his wife, Stephanie, of Clearwater, Fla.; 21 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; a sister; Lois Nelson and her husband, Robert, of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother, Kenneth Averill and his wife, Gloria, of Brooksville, Fla. She was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Gilman and a granddaughter, Rachel Ruth. A celebration of her life was held and followed by a private viewing.
