BANGOR – John E. Stupak, 62, died Nov. 5, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1944, in New Jersey, the son of Edward and Maude E. (Magee) Stupak. John was a graduate of State University of New York – Delhi College of Technology with a business management degree. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Okinawa and worked as an aircraft mechanic. It was then, that he met his wife, Mary (Frey). Most of John’s working life was spent in food service. He worked for Morrison at Husson College and for Macke at Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He later worked as the regional and distribution manager for Custom Management Corp. He was the former proprietor of Yankee Chowder House, Brewer and was district manager in the house keeping and dietary departments of Summit Services. Most recently, he was chef for Chi Omega at the University of Maine. John was a dedicated Patriots and Red Sox fan and was a member of the Saturday Nighters and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, No. 3177, Brewer. Woodworking, carpentry and cooking were his joys, and holiday traditions with his family were most important to him. He will be missed by his five dogs, especially Pixie and Brandy. Surviving are four children, April Horne of New Hampshire and her daughter, Heather, Renee Stupak of Bangor and her son, Isaiah, Maralee Frederick and her husband, Shawn, of Eddington and their children, Savanna, McKenzie and Gabriel, Carrie DeBeck and her husband, Gordon, of Bangor and their daughter, Haley; his significant other, Judy Wood of Bangor; one sister, Ruth Ann Rodriguez of California; a nephew, Ralph Rodriguez; and many extended family members from out-of-state. Family and friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a memorial service in celebration of John’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Grace Bartlett, presiding. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
