OAKLAND – Josef H. Landwehr, 66, died May 27, 2004, in Waterville. He was born Dec. 3, 1937, in Bremen, Germany, the son of Herrmann and Paula (Wolters) Landwehr. Josef was a self employed farmer in Appleton Ridge, owned Landwehr’s Country Diner in Winslow, and was a Jack-of-All-Trades. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; sons, Peter, Paul and wife, Debbie, and Jeff and wife, Cindy; daughters, Monica Cleveland and husband, Matt, and Nina Hutchins and husband, Darryl; stepsons, James Hitchcock and wife, Nola, Gary Hitchcock, and Timothy Hitchcock; stepdaughters, Lynn Newton and husband, Donald, Debbie Williams and husband, John, Kathy Duran and husband, Terry, and Krista Veilleux and husband, Paul; god-son Dylan Veilleux; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Anni Ottens and husband, Gerd; brother, Franz; aunt, Cynthia Wolters; and cousin, Joey Wolters. Friends are invited to visit 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Oakland. A graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lewis Cemetery, Cottle Road in Oakland.
