NEWPORT – Joseph L. Boulier, 81, died April 19, 2005, at his Lunt Road residence after a long illness. He was born July 25, 1923, in Stetson, the son of Wayman and Blanche E. (Lawrence) Boulier. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1943. He was a World War II veteran of the Marine Corps. Joe was a mill worker for most of his working life, working in several local mills. For many years he was employed at Guilford Industries in Newport. He was married to Helen L. (Gregory) Boulier, who died in 1986. He married his present wife, Stella L. (Shorette) Boulier, in 1989 and they have made their home in Newport. Joe was an active member for many years of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Newport Branch. He served as a dedicated home teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, teaching through out the area. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Stella L. Boulier of Newport; two sons and their wives, Billy and April Boulier of Palmyra, Robert and Debbie Boulier of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a daughter and her husband, Brenda and Elliot Haroldsen of South Park, Pa.; two step- daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Reagan Burrell of Palmyra, Phyllis and Roger Stevens of Smithfield; two sons, Ambrose “Tom” McCarthy and his partner, Debbie, John and his wife, Brenda McCarthy, of Ohio; three sisters, Helen Haining, Marion Austin, both of Newport, Lois “Andy” Boulier of East Newport; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Thelma Eaton; and his brothers, Kenneth and Edwin Boulier. Friends may call 2-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005, at the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Newport Branch, Libby Hill, Newport, with Branch President, Gordon McKenney, officiating.
