SKOWHEGAN – Joseph L. Goulette passed away Sept. 22, 2006, surrounded by his loving family, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Skowhegan to George and Eva Reine (Veilleux) Goulette. Larry was a World War II veteran. He served overseas in the Navy and was an American Legion member. He was employed by Norwock Shoe and later for SAD No. 54 for many years before retiring in 1990. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie (Spencer) Goulette of Skowhegan; his two daughters, Barbara Blunda and her husband, Peter, of Gorham and Joanne Hewett and her husband, Jeffrey, of Skowhegan; one son, Stephen Goulette and his wife, Alice, of Old Town; six grandchildren, Daron Goulette, Michelle Goulette, Shawn Hewett, John Blunda and his wife, Andrea, Joseph Blunda and Sam Blunda and girlfriend, Amanda Clements; one brother, Richard Goulette and his wife, Germaine; a sister, Shirley (Goulette) Boone and her husband, Richard; many special nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special lifelong friend, Phil Johnson and his wife, Bessie. Larry was predeceased by his parents; as well as two brothers, Donald Goulette and Gerald Goulette and his wife, Doris. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 7, at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church with a graveside service after the service at Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations toward Larry’s military service stone at the new Skowhegan Veterans’ Memorial may be made to Joanne Hewett, 609 East Ridge Road, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
