PORTLAND, Conn. – June P. (Smith) Harris, 80, of High Street, wife of the late Chester L. Harris, died March 2, 2007, at Ridgeview Convalescent Center, Cromwell, Conn. Born in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Harrison A. and Charlotte (Dow) Smith. She had lived in Portland, Conn., for five years, moving from Cromwell, Conn. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Eagle’s Club, Middletown, Conn., for many years. She is survived by two sons, Chester F. Harris of Haddam Neck, Conn., and James C. Harris of East Hampton, Conn.; one daughter, Vivian Chesanek of Meriden, Conn.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church St., Middletown, Conn. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Doolittle Funeral Home.
