SUNSHINE – Katherine M. Eaton, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at a Blue Hill hospital. She was born May 16, 1920, in Bellows Falls, Vt., the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Covey) Hakey. Katherine was a graduate of Providence Bible Institute in Providence, R.I. For many years she worked as a cook at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Mass. She attended the Christian Ridge Church of God in Ellsworth for many years. Katherine is survived by her husband of 41 years, Minot E. Eaton of Sunshine; two sisters, Etta Brockney and her husband, Robert, of Portland, Ore., and Gladys Fitch and her husband, Walter, of Ludlow, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Roy and Alfred Hakey. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Main St., Stonington, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Jason Bailey officiating. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Sunshine, Deer Isle.
